Our client a leading Irish Manufacturing organisation with a Global footprint are hiring for a Supply Chain Manager to oversee the logistics and planning functions for their sites in Ireland and UK. For the first 6-8 months the successful candidate would need to be in their Dublin manufacturing office 90% of the time in order to get up to speed with everything and after that it is envisaged that they would be able to adopt the companies Hybrid Workplace approach.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support, lead and develop the Supply Chain Team (Purchasing, materials and stocks coordination, warehouse, and production planning)
• Develop policies and processes to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring the fulfilment of all quality and safety requirements and in line with global company policies
• Manage both internal and external supply chains (third party manufacturing) in line with business objectives and in relation to supplier performance and adherence to contractual agreements
• Plan, manage, and coordinate all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the product demand
• Review and develop as appropriate the supply chain database and be responsible for ensuring that vendors are of the highest quality
• Assess total costs of division purchases and seeks opportunities to reduce costs
• Ensure effective planning across manufacturing operations, concentrating on production capacity, customer demand and raw material availability
• Manage and plan warehouse resources and systems to ensure accurate and on-time delivery service to our customers
• Lead effective Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings, ensuring strong collaboration and alignment between commercial and supply departments so we consistently exceed our customer order delivery targets
• Ensure stocks are managed effectively and efficiently in line with company policy
• Accurately report financial and operational performance, financial forecasting, and annual budgeting
• Represent Supply Chain as part of the management team, working closely with other business areas to ensure effective business performance
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to working practices to improve efficiency, performance, and reliability in the supply chain
Key Requirements:
• Require 5+ years of experience in a Supply Chain expert and/or supervision position ideally in an end-to-end supply chain role and a small to medium manufacturing environment
• Previous experience managing a team is essential
• Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) desirable
• Experience in procurement, setting T&C’s, SLA’s, negotiations
• Supplier Relationship Management experience
• Good knowledge of Demand Planning and forecasting
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP/CRP activities and utilizing them efficiently to manage the workload
• Working knowledge of QAD is desirable but not required
• Basic knowledge of Pharma Industry with knowledge of GMP standards desirable
• Strong organizational and planning skills are needed
• Maintaining a team player mentality and customer focus is essential
• Ability to proactively seek resolution and react quickly when unfavourable circumstances arise
