Job Description
We are looking for an engineer who has the capability to assess, design, implement and document customer solutions enabling their business and increasing their productivity. In the role you will regularly be delivering outcomes independently, that being said there is a team to leverage and assist when required. Innovation is always welcome and we must ensure that any solutions delivered simplify service by design.
Responsibilities
- Assess customer requirements delivering designing solutions that enable their business;
- Draft scope of works and input to proposals and project plans;
- Own solutions implemented supporting any teething issues until successfully handed over into support;
- Maintain interested in developing technologies, understanding how they can improve our offerings;
- Act as a point of escalation for support, in situations where your specialist skillset can be utilized;
- Deal directly with customers only escalating back to the business when required;
- Work in;
- Dedicated Problem and Major incident manager, with timely technical interventions in the event of a serious incident;
- Drive to understand complex and ambiguous environments, simplifying and provoding clarity through work delivered;
- Where required co-ordinate with 3rd parties to deliver outcomes;
- Act as a customer advocate;
- Mentor and provide an example to more junior team members, assisting their learning on technical subjects and acting as role model for attitude and approach to work;
- Identification of improvement projects, relaying recommendations to accounts manager;
- Understand all compliance requirements and keeping of appropriate records to ensure these requirements are met;
- Be cognisant of operational security identifying changes to reduce risk along the way;
Requirements
- Industry Accreditation;
- Degree in Computer Science / IT Management or similar;
- A minimum of 10 years working in the IT industry;
- Proven experience of sizing, scoping and delivering projects;
Preferred Experience/Skills
- Experience working with and deploying HP switches;
- Experience working with and deploying SonicWall Firewalls;
- HP Server Hardware installation and support;
- HP SAN configuration and maintenance;
- Hyper-V Server clustering;
- Microsoft DFS;
- Cloud migration experience with a preference for Azure experience;
