Our client, a prominent financial institution, is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join their team. As a trusted recruitment agency, we are working closely with our client to identify top talent for this important role.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for network, telephony, and contact center infrastructure.
- Monitor and respond to network and telephony alerts, troubleshooting and updating customers as necessary.
- Maintain and enhance service quality and standards.
- Professionally and efficiently manage IT-related issues until resolution.
- Support network activities outside regular working hours when required (participation in an on-call rota).
- Foster strong relationships with internal teams, third-party vendors, and service providers.
- Take ownership of project tasks, ensuring timely delivery according to schedules, quality, and cost.
- Contribute to innovation, continuous improvement, and process development.
- Support the implementation of changes to improve productivity and service delivery.
- Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives.
- Adhere to IT security, risk, and compliance policies.
- Familiarity with automation tools for network monitoring, incident troubleshooting, upgrades, and collaboration with network architects.
- Provide remote support to on-site engineers and end users/customers during installations and troubleshoot any initial issues.
- Collaborate with project management teams, third-line engineers, and service desk engineers, updating incident management call queues.
- Attend change control and service control meetings regularly.
- Support the development and implementation of technology roadmaps for relevant technologies.
- Drive simplification and minimize complexity while maintaining industry-leading solutions and configurations.
Risk Management & Control:
- Understand the risk landscape and maintain an appropriate control environment aligned with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Enhance and automate controls where possible.
- Foster a culture of openness and continual improvement in risk management.
- Proactively address audit findings, implementing effective and permanent solutions.
- Support the successful remediation of findings from external reviews.
Requirements: Essential:
- Degree or equivalent in Information Systems or IT discipline.
- Three years of proven experience in technical infrastructure design and implementation in a medium to large organization.
- Understanding of Cisco Nexus and Catalyst equipment, including VXLAN and routing protocols.
- Strong understanding of Cisco ISE, particularly in network access control and Wi-Fi management.
- Knowledge of virtualized environments and associated components.
- Experience with WLAN security protocols and tools.
- Knowledge of Avaya IP Telephony systems and SIP in office and contact center environments.
- LAN/WAN/WLAN implementation and support.
- Strong experience in IT network infrastructure implementation, configuration, and administration.
- Data center and IT structured cabling management.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems and propose solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to set and maintain high performance standards.
- Proven ability to design and implement new solutions and improve system resilience.
- Strong understanding of risk management and associated controls in a banking environment.
- Familiarity with cloud-based principles and providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).
- Incident and problem management experience, providing analysis and resolution within service level agreements.
- Technical support for incident/crisis management process.
Desired:
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification.
- Telephony/contact center accreditation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, JIRA, and process mapping tools.
- Strong understanding of disaster recovery principles and backup and recovery responsibilities.
- Desire to enhance IT competencies through training and education.
