Role Overview:
As a Data Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in assisting with the development and implementation of data strategy across the areas of People, Process, and Technology for our client's esteemed clientele. You will be instrumental in guiding organizations through the transition from a centralized data ownership model to a federated model enabled by the concept of a data mesh architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute comprehensive data strategies that align with organizational objectives.
- Assist in the design and implementation of data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity, quality, and security.
- Lead efforts to transition from a centralized data ownership model to a federated model, leveraging the principles of data mesh architecture.
- Provide expert guidance on best practices for data management, including data ingestion, processing, storage, and analysis.
- Drive the adoption of Microsoft Azure data components, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory.
- Utilize Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Fabric to enhance data discovery, lineage, and governance capabilities within client organizations.
- Conduct assessments and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of existing data governance practices and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of data initiatives with broader business objectives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data governance and data mesh architecture, providing mentorship and guidance to internal teams and clients.
Requirements:
- Previous experience implementing a data mesh and data governance in a global organization is essential.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure data components, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Fabric is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing effective data governance frameworks and strategies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
