Technical Support Engineer - Ballsbridge

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer for a leading Security Software company in South Dublin. This role will support US based customers on high level support issues.

On behalf of one of our clients, we are currently seeking to recruit a Level 2 technical support engineer for their main office located in Ballsbridge.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate

Technical Skills

This role is a combination of Helpdesk Support and hands on Deskside support in a very busy and diverse network environment. The clients network infrastructure supports employees across multiple site locations throughout Ireland.  This is a very challenging, rewarding and interesting opportunity for the right candidate. On the job training will be provided, including a generous subsidy towards additional appropriate training.

  • Possess strong troubleshooting skills in a diverse network environment
  • Take responsibility and ownership of level 2 support tickets from inception to completion
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Windows in a network environment
  • Configuration of networked and locally attached printers
  • Imaging of PC’s, laptops
  • Good understanding of WAN & LAN networked environments
  • Installation and support of a wide range of networked hardware & software products
  • Experience of Dell \ IBM \ HP Server hardware technologies is beneficial
  • Knowledge of configuring wireless technologies is beneficial
  • Familiarisation with configuration of Anti-Virus products is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of network protocols such as TCPIP \DHCP \DNS
  • Participate in I.T. projects / hardware & software roll outs
  • Recognised Industry certifications from Microsoft or other Industry leaders is a major benefit


  • 3-4 years experience in 2nd or 3rd line tech support
  • Support experience in Operating Systems, Databases and Email Servers
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Proven ability to own complex problems through to resolution

This role may grow in the future to become more client facing

Shift is 4pm to 12.30am (Irish time)

Pay is €40-50,000 per annum
